Ordering a cake

Cake orders can be placed via the contact form, or by emailing me directly at forsythiaforsythiabaking@gmail.com.

Availability

Please place your order a minimum of 5 days prior to your desired pickup date. If you are reading this and despairing because you’d like a cake with less than five days notice, you can always send me an email to see if I have last minute availability or cancellations. The more lead time you can give me, the better!

I am only available for cake pickups on weekends and after 6 pm on weekdays. Forsythia Forsythia is a solo endeavor and at times, I may be unavailable or fully booked. Please let me know your desired dates when sending me a message.

Pickups and payment

I make cakes for pickup only in Athens, New York. I will occasionally have popups and special sales in the Hudson Valley, New York City and other locations. You can stay updated via my Instagram.

When you order a cake, I will communicate payment instructions. Payment is due prior to or at pickup. I can not release a cake without payment in full.

Custom (non-menu) cakes

I’m open to working with you on creating a custom flavored cake that is not currently on my menu. This may be something you’ve seen me make in the past, or a flavor combination you’re especially interested in.

The design of all menu cakes is based upon my discretion and the seasonal decorations I have available. Distinct design requirements, such as specific florals, fruit or other decorative elements, are considered custom options. Custom cakes are priced based on the individual cake. Please contact me for a quote.

Dietary restrictions

I will work with you to the best of my ability to create a cake that works with your dietary restrictions, including gluten free cakes and vegan cakes. Please inquire about these options when you contact me for an order.

Please note that all cakes are prepared in a kitchen that processes wheat flour, dairy, and nuts.

I do not currently offer sugar free cakes, cakes made with sugar alternatives, or cakes that are both vegan and gluten free.

Keeping cake fresh

Forsythia Forsythia cakes should be kept boxed and refrigerated until 30-60 minutes before you’d like to serve, when they can be removed from the refrigerator to come to room temperature. Leftover cake can be wrapped in two layers of plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and frozen or refrigerated.
